Works with

Xero and Senda

Xero is cloud accounting software for small businesses: bills, invoices, bank reconciliation and the chart of accounts, in one organisation.

Senda sends each landed-cost charge on your shipments to your Xero organisation as a draft bill to review and approve, booked to your own account codes. Or it writes the same bills as a file in Xero's import columns.

Accounting bills are on the Operations plan. Connecting and sending need a workspace admin.

Where Senda stops

Senda creates draft bills and goes no further: approving and paying them happens in Xero. The amounts are estimates for you to confirm, and Senda keeps no ledger of its own.

Using them together

Using Xero with Senda

Connect once and the landed-cost charges on your shipments go to Xero as drafts, booked to your own account codes.

  1. 1

    Set your account codes

In Settings → Accounting, enter the Xero account code each landed-cost type books to: US customs duties and fees, freight, insurance and brokerage.

  2. 2

    Connect your organisation

A workspace admin chooses Connect Xero on the same page, signs in to Xero and picks one organisation.

  3. 3

    Send the bills

On Reporting, choose the dates and pick Send bills to Xero from the page's menu. Each landed-cost charge saved on a shipment in those dates arrives as its own draft bill, and one already in Xero under the same number is skipped.

  4. 4

    Approve them in Xero

Review each draft in Xero and approve or edit it there. A bill that arrived without its account is named on Reporting, so you know which draft to fix.

  5. 5

    Or import a file instead

Bills for Xero, in the same menu, downloads the same bills in Xero's import columns for you to import by hand.

  6. 6

    Disconnect when you choose

Disconnect on Settings → Accounting and Senda's access is revoked at Xero.

Each step was checked against Senda on 11 October 2026.

Keep what works

When to keep Xero

  • Keep Xero for your books, bank reconciliation and payments. Senda keeps no general ledger, and its bills arrive as drafts for someone in Xero to approve.
  • Keep your own account codes. Each landed-cost type books to the Xero code you set in Senda.

Start with your real workflow

See it on one of your own orders.

Tell us how your team works today, including the tools you keep. We walk one real order-to-shipment workflow through Senda with you, before anything is signed.
