CargoWise is built to run a freight forwarder or customs broker: bookings, customs declarations, warehousing and accounting, across many countries. If you are the importer or exporter — or a small team that needs one clean record of its orders, shipments and documents — much of that is a floor you never walk on.

If you file customs declarations, run a warehouse and bill customers, CargoWise does that and Senda does not. If your job is keeping the record straight and your broker files for you, Senda is the lighter fit.

Which one to pick

Which one fits depends on the job.

Choose Senda if

  • You are the importer or exporter, and your forwarder and broker already file on your behalf.
  • You would rather pay a published monthly price than a fee on every shipment and customs procedure.
  • Your real problem is the record: documents retyped by hand and status spread across email.
  • Korea and the United States are on your lane, and you want Korea customs lookups in the same place as the record.

Choose CargoWise if

  • You are a forwarder, broker or 3PL and need to file customs declarations, run a warehouse and bill customers from one system.
  • You operate across many countries and need the depth of modules and the partner network that comes with CargoWise.
  • Your volume makes per-transaction pricing work in your favour, and you have the people to run an implementation.

Two different jobs

CargoWise is an execution system. Its customers run operations floors on it: they book freight, file declarations, manage warehouses and invoice their own customers from the same database. Its transaction pricing reflects that — you pay as the work flows through.

Senda is a record for the trade team itself. It holds the order, the shipment, its containers and the documents that travel with them, reads the paperwork you receive, and estimates US duty. It deliberately stops before filing, booking and billing.

So the honest comparison is not feature for feature. If you need a forwarding system, choose one — CargoWise, Magaya and GoFreight all fit that brief and Senda does not. If you have been looking at CargoWise because you need a single, shared record and nothing lighter seemed to exist, that is the gap Senda was built for.

What people ask us.

Is Senda a replacement for CargoWise?

Only if you were using CargoWise as a record rather than as an execution system. Senda does not file customs declarations, manage a warehouse or run forwarder accounting. Teams that need those should look at CargoWise, Magaya or GoFreight.

How does CargoWise pricing work?

Since 1 December 2025 CargoWise charges per transaction under what it calls Value Packs. Its published community pricing lists, for example, $19.95 per FCL import shipment and $9.95 per import customs procedure, with no seat fees. Senda charges a flat monthly subscription instead: Core is $249/month for 5 users. We read CargoWise's pricing page on 27 September 2026; check it for current figures.

Can Senda and CargoWise work side by side?

They do different jobs, so they can: your forwarder runs its floor on CargoWise, and your team keeps its own record in Senda. There is no direct CargoWise connector. Senda's read API and outbound webhooks, on the Operations plan, are the integration points.
