Connect Codex

Add Senda to the Codex CLI, the IDE extension or the ChatGPT desktop app, and sign in.

Codex keeps its servers in one configuration, shared by the Codex CLI, the IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app, so you add Senda once on each machine.

Server address
https://sendaship.com/api/mcp

Enter it exactly as shown: no www. and no slash at the end. Some assistants compare it character by character with what Senda reports, and a different spelling fails to connect.

Codex CLI

Add Senda and sign in
codex mcp add senda --url https://sendaship.com/api/mcp
codex mcp login senda

The second command opens Senda in your browser to sign in and approve. In the Codex terminal app, /mcp lists your connected servers.

ChatGPT desktop app and IDE extension

  1. Open Settings → MCP servers in the desktop app, or the gear menu → MCP servers in the IDE extension.
  2. Choose Add server, name it senda, choose Streamable HTTP, and enter the server address.
  3. Save, then restart when asked.
  4. Choose Authenticate next to Senda. Senda opens in your browser. Sign in if you're asked, check that the page names the right company, and choose Approve. The page also shows the name the app gave itself and where you'll be returned.

With an API key instead

Put an API key in SENDA_API_KEY on your machine, then add Senda with:

Shell
codex mcp add senda --url https://sendaship.com/api/mcp \
  --bearer-token-env-var SENDA_API_KEY

Or add the same entry to ~/.codex/config.toml by hand. Either way Codex reads the key from the environment each time, so the file never holds it:

TOML
[mcp_servers.senda]
url = "https://sendaship.com/api/mcp"
bearer_token_env_var = "SENDA_API_KEY"

Disconnect

To disconnect, an admin opens Settings → Integrations and, under Connected assistants, disconnects it. Access ends at once. You can also remove Senda in the assistant itself. codex mcp remove senda removes it from that machine.
